About Me

Hi I am Julia, I am passionate about the human condition and people's unique stories, I work with you offering you a safe, experienced pair of hands.

I have experienced challenges personally and vicariously through close family members.  Via these intense times of anxiety and uncertainty I have managed to find my way through by studying art philosophy and embarking on a life time of evolving my own self awareness; a key element to growth.  This has lead to a passionate interest and career engaging with my clients delivering therapeutic, mindful counselling.

My experience has been working with both adolescents, adults and couples exploring a myriad of complex life challenges such as:

AnxietyDepression, Mens Issues, Couples, Relationship and Family DifficultiesDivorceHealth IssuesBereavementLife transitions and Feeling Stuck.

With the right support and help, I believe that change is possible. I have found that trust in the counselling relationship is the foundation for confidence to build within ourselves to make our own choices and feel empowered and autonomous in our lives. I am committed to professional and personal growth through regular supervision, personal reflection and continued professional development.

How I Work

I use a person centred approach, meaning that the sessions are steered by you, bespoke to you.  I draw from a range of theories making my practice eclectic. I also have a keen interest in using creative options and tools when appropriate, allowing plenty of room for clients to express themselves.

As a member of the BACP I am guided by and work within their Ethical Framework.

TESTIMONIALS

"Of the mental health professionals I have worked with in recent years, Julia has made me feel the most comfortable. She has helped me to understand my anxiety and negative thought patterns, building greater resilience, self-esteem and confidence in my own abilities and decisions. I am in a far stronger position to face challenges than I would have been without our sessions."
